Win Big Together!
Exodus 17:10-13 "10 So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill. 11 As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. 12 Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle." This morning our oldest daughter participated in "Field Day" at her school. It's a day where each class competes against other classes of the same grade level in events like the 50 meter sprint, egg spoon race, the tug of war, etc. We watched as her class won two rounds of tug of war to enter the finals. These kids were so pumped up, they dominated the final tug of war match and won first place! This event brought out the loudest cheers from every one present! It was exciting to watch these little people pull their way to victory. After the match, we thought about the story of when the Israelites defeated the army of Amalek in battle as Aaron and Hur held up the hands of Moses. We were reminded that first, we can win big in life when we are seated on the Rock, Christ Jesus. Second, we need others around us to help hold up our hands when we grow tired and weary so we can make it through to victory! Today you might be like Moses, tired and weary, needing someone to lift up your hands. Tomorrow you might be like Aaron and Hur, helping hold up the hands of a friend who has grown tired and weary. Whichever role you are in, know that victory lies ahead! Have a great day! God bless you. Louis & Elisa Quintana
