What Is God's Will For My Life?

Psalm 143:8-10

8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.  Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.  9 Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you.  10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground."

Ever ask yourself this question:  What is God's will for my life?  If you have, then you have joined millions of christians throughout history who were on a quest to live their life in "God's will."  This week our thoughts will be focused on trying to bring some answers to this age old question.

Lamentations 3:22-23 says His "mercies" are "new every morning."  Psalm 143 shows us that David knew God's mercies and unfailing love which allowed him to place his trust and lift up his soul to Him.  There are many scriptures that reveal God's will.  John 6:40 teaches us what the Father's will is.  It says,"For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."  2 Peter 3:9b says, "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

The first step in finding God's will for your life is to embrace God's mercy and unfailing love by repenting of your sin and believing in Jesus Christ.  Without Jesus as your Lord and Savior you won't know what God's will is for your life.  If you repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then and only then are you able to stand and ask God as David did, "show me the way I should go" and "teach me to do your will". David was in right standing with God.

Today find God's will for your life by believing in Jesus Christ!  If there is sin in your life, confess it and realign yourself with the will of God found in the salvation of His Son.

Have a great day!  God bless you.
